The Hong Kong Prize Money Draw

In addition to the top prize of HK$100 million, winners in the second and third prizes will share a total of HK$58.5 million. Tickets can be purchased online or at a Hong Kong Jockey Club retail outlet. Ticket prices are as follows:

To ensure the fairness of the draw, a number of measures have been taken. Employees with HKJC’s security and customer service departments check all materials used for the draw, from boxing to transport, as well as the balls and the machine on a regular basis. The same set of balls is not used for two consecutive draws, and the draw machine is also locked in a safe location following each drawing.

The winning numbers were 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 10, 12, 13, 18, 21 and 28. The ticket with number 18 was drawn from the first tier, and the other eight were pulled from the second tier. Runner-ups in the second and third prizes will receive HK$750,000 and HK$375,000 respectively.

This year, the HK$100 million prize money has been increased by 20%, making it one of the world’s largest sports prize pools. The winners will receive a lump sum of HK$100 million (US$11.3 million) in recognition of their outstanding performance. This is an important contribution to Hong Kong’s efforts to promote sports excellence, encourage more young people to participate in sports activities and build a healthier community.

As the organiser, the Society is delighted to be part of this event, which brings together scholars from all over the world to celebrate the diversity of Hong Kong studies. The prize is aimed at promoting Hong Kong studies as a global field of research, encouraging young scholars to write about this area and providing an incentive for researchers to work on the topic.

HK$100 million prize money

The winner of the HK$100 million prize money is expected to be announced in October this year, at a ceremony in Hong Kong. Applicants must be principal authors of research papers published in peer-reviewed journals, and must be Academy Fellows at the time of submission. The HK$100 million prize money is an important contribution to Hong Kong’s international development efforts and to enhance the city’s role in promoting international cooperation, especially with Mainland China and the rest of the world. In order to strengthen our position as a leading international development hub, the Hong Kong government will continue to nurture forward-looking scientific talent and foster an environment where science and technology are celebrated and commercialised.
