Roulette, or Roullete in French, is a casino game that’s played on a wheel of numbers. It’s a classic game of chance, but there are some things you can do to improve your odds and increase your chances of winning big!
The wheel and layout
The roulette wheel consists of a wooden disk slightly convex in shape with metal partitions or frets around the edges. Its compartments, or pockets, are painted either red or black. There are 36 of these divided into sections called canoes, and each of them has a number engraved nonconsecutively from 1 to 36 on European-style wheels or two green divisions on American-style wheels that have a single zero.
Players place bets on specific number or groups of numbers and then spin the wheel. When the ball lands on the number they bet on, the player wins.

6-Number Bet: The 6-number bet is similar to the street bet, but you bet on all of the 6 numbers on a row on the table map. It’s referred to as a “line” bet in the US, and is sometimes confused with a straddle bet.
The odds of a bet are calculated by dividing the sum of all chips placed in the wager by the number of chips on the table. Then, the resulting number is multiplied by the amount of the bet.
For example, a 3-chip bet on a number costs 17 chips to complete, while a 5-chip bet on a number costs 40 chips to complete. So if you bet $1000 on a single number, the total cost of your bet is $492,000. This isn’t enough to pay off a big house edge but it is still a pretty solid profit.
